FlyChart 4.52

For use with 6000 series, 5030 v2.16d or later, 5020 v1.12 or later, and 4000 series using Windows Vista, XP, ME, 2000, 98. OSX users can run FlyChart in virtualization such as Parallels, VMWare, Virtual box or BootCamp. After a new installation or reinstallation of FlyChart on newer Windows operating systems (Vista, Windows7) the firmware flasher may stop working. In this case, uninstall the USB drivers "PL-2303 USB serial" with the control panel and reinstall the appropriate Prolific USB driver below. This should fix the problem.

Firmware Update Tools (Windows only)

A new installation or a re-installation of FlyChart on newer Windows operating systems (Vista, Windows7) may disable a previously installed flasher program. If this occurs it is recommended that you un-install the USB driver "PL-2303 USB serial" with Add/Remove Programs in Windows Control Panel and then reinstall the Prolific USB driver above.

Instrument Firmware

Important: Prior to installing new firmware you should download any flights that you want to save, waypoint/routes and your instrument options into FlyChart. After installing new firmware it is recommended that you reinitialize the instrument.

Instructions 6000 series:

Firmware for 6000 series includes built-in flasher utility. Click download and then click "run" in the File Download window, click "Run" in the Security Window, plug in the instrument (unit must be off), click 'Update" in the Flasher Window. NOTE: Appropriate USB driver (above) must be installed before attempting this update. If you installed FlyChart above the USB driver should have automatically installed in your system.

6015 v1.3.03

After upgrading from firmware v1.1.xx to v1.2.02 (or later) it is essential that the 6015 flight memory be cleared (Menu>Flight Mem> Delete). Failure to to do this will result in problems downloading flights to FlyChart and other flight evaluation software.
